ROI Respite Program

At our ROI Respite Homes, trained staff members provide 24-hour supervision and individualized support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities. ROI currently runs two separate homes to ensure clinical compatibility, and is licensed to serve up to 11 children at a time (5 at one home and 6 at the other). The ROI Respite Program offers families time to rest and relax and offers their children the opportunity to build relationships with peers and practice independence skills.

Both homes are centrally located in Lansing Charter Township allowing children and staff access to a wealth of community-based activities. Every weekend the children participate in individual and group outings. Favorite activities include:

  • Special events, such as:
    • Carnivals
    • Local festivals
    • Sporting events
  • Visiting area attractions:
    • Parks
    • Zoos
    • Museums

Stays at both ROI Respite Homes are generally scheduled in 48-hour increments (Monday at 5:00 pm through Sunday at 5:00 pm), though visits can be arranged to match family needs, and adjusted to accommodate summer requests. All meals and snacks are included, and linens are provided by ROI. Clothing items, personal hygiene items, and any prescribed medications must be provided by the family.
